Practice Groups
What is a Practice Group?
A practice group is a group of people that get together to practice martial arts.
The purpose of the practice group varies from group to group. Typically, one or
more of the following applies to a practice group:
- The group is school-independent. (people from different schools are in attendance)
- The group practices a specific style or subject (e.g. Taijiquan push hands)
- The group does not charge money. (groups that charge money are considered
schools and are listed under the directory)
Occasionally, practice groups will differ slightly from the above criteria. An
example of this is a practice group that gets together for sparring. Sparring groups
typically include students from various schools that do not all practice the same
style.
